MIGRATION GUIDE · IN DEVELOPMENT

From Dashlane. To your next vault.

A provider-specific CSV importer is on the roadmap after the first three launch formats. We’ll validate the collection of exported files, not just a login sheet.

01 / PREPARE YOUR SOURCE

Export from your current app.

  1. In Dashlane, open Settings → Export data and choose the CSV export option.
  2. Confirm the export using the authentication method Dashlane requests.
  3. Keep the exported folder or ZIP, including the separate CSV files.
  4. Wait for the verified UnumVault guide before importing real data.
02 / PLANNED UNUMVAULT COVERAGE

What we’re validating.

  • Plan to evaluate credentials, secure notes, identities, and payment information separately.
  • Check multiline notes, field mapping, duplicates, and the exported folder structure.
  • Report excluded attachments and unsupported records explicitly.
03 / CHECK THE EXCEPTIONS

Know what needs extra care.

  • CSV does not carry usable passkeys or secure-note attachments.
  • Some shared credentials are excluded depending on their permissions.
  • Dashlane’s encrypted DASH backups are intended for Dashlane rather than other managers. They are outside the UnumVault import plan.
04 / AFTER A VERIFIED IMPORT

Finish the move with confidence.

Our release workflow will ask you to review the report, verify representative credentials and authenticator settings, and create an encrypted backup. Keep your source manager available until all unresolved items have a migration action.

Remove plaintext exports when you’re done and check for extra copies in Downloads, Trash, backups, or synced folders. Deleting a file does not guarantee secure erasure.
